Advantages and Disadvantages of Vertical Farming

The concept of vertical framing has become increasingly popular, and it seems like a prototype of the future of agriculture. However, vertical farming is still under constant scrutiny.

Advantage:

1.  It allows crops to grow year-round

2.  Less water used

3.  Weather doesn't affect the crops

4.  More organic crops can be grown

5.  Less exposure to chemicals and disease

Disadvantage:

1.  It could be very costly to build and economic feasibility studies haven't yet been completed

2.  Pollination would be very difficult and costly

3.  It would involve higher labor costs

4.  It relies too much on technology and one day of power loss would be devastating
